just wanted to let my fellow rogues know about the hit cap. in PVP, not much + hit is necessary. u only need 5% (which is about +80 hit). in pve however, the cap is much larger...it is 20% (about +330 hit, +308 hit w/ talent points in precision and weapon expertise)...just FYI. start building up that hit rating. i honestly didnt think it made that much of a difference, but stacking +hit has been one of the easiest ways i've ever boosted my dps. i resocketed some gems and, at the expense of AP, crit, and agi, got my hit up there a bit more. i suggest going straight for the hit cap, even if it means +8 hit gems in all your sockets, 20% crit, and 1k AP, because once you hit the cap, then you can resocket to build up more AP or crit or agi or stam or w/e

I dont want to edit my poast so Im just gonna say log off in raid gear please...I have to make sure you arent at the cap yet to make me sound like less of an ass. that is all
you don't have hit capped eithe...oh youre not a rogue...gtfo our forums!
Another thing about hit. Don't sacrifice so many stats that you are at an insanely low attack power and crit percent. Find a comfortable spot for you. 270-290 seems to be what people go for. This also gives room for picking up one of those items with insane hit rating without going over and wasting it. Hit rating IS the most important stat but there must be a reason why there is so very little on tier 5 right? ..right?!?

There is. It's the same for hunters with +hit and Mp5. There's a "tier" of loot that has boat-loads of it, and the tier above it has almost none.
The reason for this is that Blizzard assumes that in the course of progression, a player will have access to lots of pieces at each "level" of post-70 gear. It's up to the player to decide which pieces will make the most effective combination.
The point is.... Blizzard set TBC end-game up so that you'll get a bunch of overlapping pieces and have to decide which combinations work best, based on the stats you need.
I think I'll post something similar in the Hunter forums too.

Thank you Shaved. I was actually quite curious about why that was done to the gear. You cleared up the confusion quite nicely although I still disagree with the choice to put no hit rating on rogue tier five aside from I think the gloves.
not editing my post either =P...about sacrificing hit for other stats, i was just emphasizing the importance of hit. some rogues might hit 70 and hav only 100 or less hit so getting started focusing on it early is important...if u plan on raiding. honestly though, if my crit was at or around 20% i probly try to get that up first, a couple percent at least

Although you have the 5% crit advantage so it would be like me with 15%..sadly enough I've seen rogues with that kind of crit.."oh but they have really high hit at least right"...again, sadly no. Level 60 epics/blues ftl!
