stats and their values


There's a "tier" of loot that has boat-loads of "secondary" stats, and the tiers above and below it have almost none.

The reason for this is that Blizzard assumes that in the course of progression, a player will have access to lots of pieces at each "level" of post-70 gear. It's up to the player to decide which pieces will make the most effective combination.

My Beast Lord Gloves are better for me than the Tier 4. Why? Let's look.

I have plenty of Mp5 and Int.  0.45 crit > 9 AP any day.

After T4, the "primary" stat focus comes back...

Very little "support/secondary" stats budgeted here. No Mp5, no +hit, potential for 40 agility with more AP than BL.

40 agi * 1.15 = 46 agi (1.08% crit, 46 AP) + 48 AP = 94 AP, > 1% crit



The point is.... Blizzard set TBC end-game up so that you'll get a bunch of overlapping pieces and have to decide which combinations work best, based on the stats you need.

1 Stamina -> 10 Health
1 Intellect -> 15 Mana

1 Attack Power -> 1 Ranged Attack Power & 1 Melee Attack Power
1 Weapon Skill -> 0.2% Hit & 0.2% Crit vs. +3 mobs
1 Strength -> 1 Melee Attack Power

1 Agility -> 1 Ranged Attack Power
1 Agility -> 2 Armor
25 Agility -> 1% Dodge
40 Agility -> 1% Crit

3.9 Weapon Skill Rating -> 1 Weapon Skill
15.8 Hit Rating -> 1% Hit
10.5 Haste Rating -> 1% Haste
22.1 Critical Strike Rating -> 1% Crit
39.4 Resilience Rating -> -1% chance to be Crit
39.4 Resilience Rating -> -2% damage taken from Crits (all these at level 70)
