at your level now, it's good to just play around with your spec. Try out different things, see how they work..etc When you are 70 ask yourself do you want to mainly pvp or raid heal? If you want to raid heal myrid already laid out a highly viable spec in his guide. If you want to pvp and still be pretty good in raid heal, and has a bit more survivability, try out something like this,

Myrid is really good at it and enjoyings healing a lot. Aranon and areal will tell you a lot about ret and pvp too. Epici is a really good prot paladin now you could ask him if ever have any questions in that tree. and for the love of god L2 bubble earth (macro it)you should just do what I did ask everyone who plays the class well and then play around with different specs yourself to learn.
Most of what I know comes from areal aranon and myrid. But ask me if you have any questions regarding lawladin.

Paka, a healing spec is one of 3 versions (in general) for raiding/5 mans.

A: The PVE/PVP Survival Spec:
              Prot down to imped conc aura (won't go into specifics... cause I am
lazey today) -Rest in holy
                  -This gives you the added bonus of our blocking skill, faster BoP, Imped conc aura, etc etc
                  -Holy tree should be spent to avoid all the little bonus's (pure of heart etc, boosted cleansing etc) in favor of getting to your 41 point talent with the most *Pure healing* power.

B: The PVE/PVP Shockadin spec: Down the ret tree far enough to get your holy aura (snag soc) boosts to burst dps (crusader) etc.
                                             Rest in holy (again pick up only what you -need-  bare min to snag the very best in healing power.
                      - This is a solid dps/heal spec. In proper 800 spell damage plate (use atlas to find loc's etc) you can deal out 1.5-3k holy shocks, SoR's around 1.6-2k and stunned SoC's Exceeding 2k. Plus still be a very solid healer.

C:Pure Raiding healer-  This is my currect spec that I mentioned a post ago. So I won't go into details, you can look it up on the forums here.

I am currently working on a Paladin Faq for healers/DPS/Tanks(when I get info from epici and a few other pali tanks, since it is -not- a spec I've played with a lot).  As well waiting on the final verstion of the PTR for me to update some things (buffs, timers etc).  Just an fyi.. we are now the "flaming purge class". Our graphics are huge and ugly.. allowin any shaman to see and purge us.

As soon as it is complete I will post it here before the wow forums.
